From the footings up: groundworks and foundations
We began with excavation and the new garage footings. The early photographs show the site being prepared, concrete in the foundation trenches and the first lower walls. These stages establish the footprint of the building before the main structure takes shape.
Blockwork, stonework and first-floor joists
The walls were built up in stages, with openings formed in the structure and timber joists installed at first-floor level. The later views show the upper blockwork and external stonework developing around the garage. This was a full build by our team, not an existing garage receiving a new roof.
All structural steels and roof rafters installed
Our work included the structural steelwork and the new timber roof structure. The photographs show the steel beams in place, a close-up at the blockwork and the new rafters forming the pitched roof. These details are part of the complete building and roofing scope we delivered on this Skipton project.
A brand-new slate roof in Skipton
With the rafters installed, we fitted the roofing membrane and battens before laying the new slates. Roof windows were incorporated into the slope, with the window and flashing details recorded during installation.
